Memorial Day thru Labor Day
Sundays & Wednesdays at 11:30 am
Carnivore, Herbivore or Omnivore Meal Presentations are designed to teach Zoo Visitors about the dietary needs of the animals at our Zoo. Learn from a Zoo Keeper wheat each species needs to eat to stay healthy and get a firsthand look as the animals enjoy their meal. In addition, see animal artifacts and learn how the Zoo Keepers enrich the animal’s daily lives.
Monday and Thursdays at 11:30 am
These presentations are designed to teach Zoo Visitors about the animals that reside at Pine Grove Zoo with an up close encounter with some of the Zoo’s species and animal artifacts. Come and learn from a Zoo Keeper about the animals and their care in captivity while getting a chance to meet them.
Tuesdays at 11:30 AM
Animal Enrichment Presentation
Learn what enrichment is and why it is important to our Zoo. Every day, Zoo Keepers give the animals something different to keep their minds and bodies happy and healthy! See the different kinds of enrichment options and how the animals will react to them!
Every Friday and Saturday at 11:30 am
By getting the animal to participate in its own health care, we can drastically reduce stress when performing routine health care, as well as help stimulate our animals mentally. Trainers can also use training to encourage normal behavior such as pouncing and leaping while eliminating stereotypical behaviors. With the use of operant conditioning, trainers can help keep the animal in shape by getting them up and moving.
