Bobcat
(Felis concolor)
Habitat: Minnesota native. Most widespread wild cat in North America. Found in all 48 contiguous states, southern Canada and parts of Mexico. Will live in forests or deserts and everything in between.

Diet: Small rodents, rabbits, fawns and carrion.

Vitals: About twice the size of a domestic cat. 15 inches at shoulder, 25-30 inches in length. 25-35 lbs. Light gray to reddish-brown in color streaked and dotted with black.

Breeding: Gestation of 60-70 days, 2-4 kittens, usually born in spring.

Behavior/Adaptions: Generally solitary. Retractable claws like most cats. Active mostly at twilight. They are at home in trees and on the ground. Rely heavily on hearing and vision.
